Liverpool Addresses Anfield Concerns

September 25th, 2018

There is no doubt that Liverpool is committed when it comes to addressing concerns of not only its team but also the residents of Anfield. This was in reference to the concerns faced by residents on match day. The residents staying in the vicinity of football stadium raised an issue over capacity of Anfield which was increased to over 54,000 followed by the Main Stand opening in 2016. However, Liverpool did acknowledge the issue and did all it takes to ease the concerns faced by the residents.

The head of the operation of Infield Simon Smith did reveal the issues. Smith said he had attended forums of a few residents and the feedback regarding the match day was not positive. There were issues related to parking and littering and so on. Smith said as a club, they have to ensure that they are good neighbors and would be unfair to see them suffer. Liverpool Target Alisson, Spurs Target Malcom

May 31st, 2018

Liverpool, who are doing very well, have decided to bring in a new goalkeeper during the summer. The Reds are keen on signing Roma goalkeeper Alisson and talks are underway, reports say. The Italian is one of the top rated keepers in Europe and Coach Jurgen Klopp wants to bring him to Anfield.

Liverpool is targeting the 26-year old after inquiries into the player in the winter window. They hope to persuade AS Roma to agree to release the player to them at the end of the season. Alisson is valued by Roma in the range of £60+ million so Liverpool would have to break the world record for a goalkeeper. They broke the record in England to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton this January and could do so again this summer. Read the rest of this entry »

GARY NEVILLE TEARS ARSENAL APART AFTER 4-0 LOSS

September 27th, 2017

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville blamed the whole Arsenal team following their huge loss against Liverpool at Anfield on Super Sunday.

Arsenal were expected to at least put up a decent fight but the Gunnersfell flat on their faces as the Reds attacks proved too hot to handle.

Jurgen Klopp’s men battered Arsene Wenger’s men 4-0, giving them their second straight loss after three Premier League games this season.

Neville tore the Arsenal team into shreds, questioning why Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey would play in central midfield with Alexis Sanchez and MesutOzil just outside them. He blamed Wenger for not paying attention to the opposition in naming his squad.

Neville claimed Arsenal players were very poor in their transition from attack to defence. He said the team struggled to get in shape after losing the ball despite knowing the kind of opposition they were facing. Read the rest of this entry »

DIRK KUYT LIVES THE DREAM

July 15th, 2017

Very few – if any – footballers have had a better ecstasy witnessed by Dirk Kuyt as he threw the Eredivisie trophy into the jubilating atmosphere of the city of Rotterdam few weeks ago.

Francesco Totti for one can object, afterall the 40-year old on the last day of the Serie A season and in his last match as a professional footballer, with the score tied at 2-2, scored the last goal to paint off an emotional goodbye to Romans as they wept for the exit of a living monument.

Bring up as many examples you can and still, you will struggle to put a blind eye on the reality so good it sounds more like a fairy tale – a 36-year old veteran scoring a hat trick to lead his boyhood club to a title they failed to win for 18 years.

When Kuyt left Feyenoord for Liverpool big things were expected of him, given how he topped the Eredivisie’s scoring chart. Liverpool was his first stop on his sojourn away from The Netherlands. Although he ended up collecting only one League Cup in 2006despite being largely phenomenal throughout his stay at Anfield. Read the rest of this entry »

LIVERPOOL TO BID FOR VAN DIJK

May 9th, 2017

Premier League side Liverpool FC are already preparing to move past the failures of this season as it ends in a month. Their defence gave them issues this term.

The Reds are reportedly readying a bid to swoop Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.

The Saints’ skipper has a lot of interests in the market so Liverpool want to move in and get his signature as soon as the opportunity presents itself. The price tag for the defender is in the £50 million range but knowing how they badly need a capable person, Anfieldis willing to sit and discuss.

Liverpool are known to be good sellers but they rarely break the bank for players. The deal of Luis Suarez comes to mind. The Reds spent £35 million to get Andy Carroll from Newcastle United in 2011 and it has remained their biggest yet.

Most of the Premier League clubs are keen on landing Van Dijk: Manchester City, Everton, and Chelsea. Arsenal recently joined the race to get the Netherlands international so they could compete against these sides and with Liverpool for his commitment. Read the rest of this entry »

KLOPP MAKING SUMMER PLANS ALREADY

March 29th, 2017

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly making plans for the summer already.

This is despite their brilliant result against Arsenal over the weekend. The Reds have struggled with consistency this term and it has affected their title chances – even a top-four finish is not sure yet.

Klopp is already making plans to add some players to his side. The club has been linked for a while to Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette. The player has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years: Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are likely destinations.

Lacazette has been in impressive form this year, scoring 22 goals in 23 league appearances. He is priced above £50 million, meaning only the biggest clubs can afford him. Read the rest of this entry »

Sturridge needs to leave Liverpool

January 11th, 2017

Former Rangers player Kris Boyd believes that Sturridge will have to leave Liverpool if he wants to save his career.

He said that with the amount of quality players available at Liverpool, Sturridge will find it hard to get playing time and that he will be better off moving to another club during the transfer window.

Daniel Sturridge has suffered multiple injuries during the recent seasons, and this has prevented him to claim a place in the team. Boyd feels that at the moment there are other players are ahead of him in the pecking order and that he will have a hard time in getting into the first team.

This season Sturridge has only managed to start only four games in all competition, and it is unlikely that things will change soon. With DivockOrigi becoming better as the season goes by, it is very hard to imagine that Daniel Sturridge will get a chance back into the team. Read the rest of this entry »

Jurgen Klopp Says Liverpool Lost Patience against Manchester United

November 18th, 2016

Liverpool failed to continue their winning run after only a goalless draw with Manchester United at Anfield.

It was a disappointing result for the home team considering that they were expected to win the game quite comfortably and take advantage of the opposition’s current misfortunes. United have been highly inconsistent and the arrival of Jose Mourinho has done little to improve the fortunes. The Portuguese boss, though, has always known how to get results against the top teams and he was at it once again on Monday night.

United came in with a highly defensive formation and they seemed to have the sole intention of stopping the opposition from playing. Liverpool played into the hands of United by being too hectic and losing the patience, according to boss Jurgen Klopp. The former Borussia Dortmund manager has transformed the Liverpool’s fortunes by adopting an attacking style of play. Even though it is only an improvement over the Brendan Rodgers’ philosophy, it has paid rich dividends in the last 12 months. Read the rest of this entry »
